CHARITY WORKS!

–the 3rd anecdote written on Mar 1, 2011 @ 17:20–

Once upon a time, there was a bonny and meek girl who lived in a community called The Virtue Valley.  The color of her hair was somewhat strawberry-blond if you could call it that and her skin was of pale brown hue.  Her name was Charity.  She belonged to a family of humble beginnings.  Her mother, Faith, was a teacher at a government-owned nursery school where she taught only part-time, thrice a week.  Her mother was taking care of Charity and her 2 younger sisters, Joy and Grace, when she was not teaching.  Charity’s father, Justice, was a corn-farmer and the community-head of VirtueValley

where their clan had been living since the time of her father’s father.  But whenever he was able, Justice never missed the opportune time to see his 3 wonderful kids at home.

Charity’s parents never failed to remind all three of them Read more »

Simon The Pleaser

–the 2nd anecdote written on September 16, 2010 @ 22:33–

Simon was known to be a good person.  Everyone who knew him would say so.  Even the strangers who got acquainted with him by mere circumstance would definitely think of the same thing about him.  On the day of his burial, a lot of people had gathered around his coffin.  They all got acquainted and found the time to talk to each other after the service.

Jonas shared his own experience of being with Simon, being a good friend that he was to him.  Jonas was a man who always made promises but he made promises to a lot of people at the same time, leaving him so caught up in-between promises, mostly.  One day, he got both of his hands tied.  He promised his mother to drive for her to do her groceries but he remembered after a little while that he also promised his sister to drive her back to her boarding school on that very hour while last night he told his girlfriend they would be having a date on that day, too.    Read more »

Smiles – Mayla’s Own Written Anecdote

When Amelia died her soul was transported to a bunch of heavenly clouds.  An angel greeted and showed her the way where all the newly arrived souls should fall in line and wait for their turn to meet Saint Peter face to face.

Amelia thought that she came a little earlier because she was the only soul in the line then.  A couple of seconds later, another soul was falling in line as she was being assisted by the same angel who greeted Amelia, earlier.

Amelia greeted the second soul, "Hi, my name is Amelia.  What’s yours?" Read more »

But the day of the Lord

will come like a thief,

and then the heavens will pass away

with a mighty roar

and the elements

will be dissolved by fire,

and the earth and everything done on it will be found out.

     Remember to welcome strangers,

because some who have done this

have entertained angels

without knowing it.

Remember those who are in prison

as if you were in prison with them.

Remember those who are suffering

as if you were suffering with them.

   Do not fool yourselves.

If you think you are wise in this world,

you should become a fool

so that you can become truly wise,

because the wisdom of this world

is foolishness with God.

    Don’t store treasures

for yourselves here on earth

where moths and rust will destroy them

and thieves can break in and steal them.

But store your treasures in heaven

where they cannot be destroyed

by moths or rust

and where thieves cannot break in

and steal them.

For where your treasure is,

there also will your heart be.

    When you do things,

do not let selfishness or pride

be your guide.

Instead, be humble and

give more honor to others

than to yourselves.

Do not be interested only

in your own life,

but be interested in the lives of others.

In your lives you must

think and act Christ Jesus.

But the Lord said to Samuel:

"Do not judge from his appearance

or from his lofty stature,

because I have rejected him.

Not as man sees does God see,

because man sees the appearance

but the Lord looks into the heart."
